Formerly known as the ’Fiji Transgender Empowerment Project’ under the Fiji Arts Council (2010–11), Haus of Khameleon has gone through a period of reinvention to expand, restrategise and replenish their work.

Haus of Khameleon is the leading transgender organisation working with the broader LGBT movement in Fiji, and is closely allied with other LGBT organisations across the Pacific.

At the national level, Haus of Khameleon is a member of the Rainbow Fiji Coalition, the Fiji Joint Sex Workers Alliance, the National Youth Council of Fiji, and various women’s movements.

The organisation uses evidence-based, human rights and gender sensitive approaches to address the issues of concern to their members, including social and restorative justice, gender-based violence, access to services and resources, sexual and reproductive health and rights, peace and security, democracy and good governance, right to legal identity recognition, employment, and bullying.

The organisation believes in the power of art as a tool for activism and use a variety of media to create, inspire, inform, celebrate and energise their communities.

Haus of Khameleon provides technical support to other trangender organisations in the Pacific.

Other work includes event management and hosting Fiji’s biggest LGBT event ‘Adi Senikau Pageant’ which is held annually every August.

Through their Creative Director, Haus of Khameleon also sits in the UNAIDS Youth Advisory Forum as the corepresentative from the Asia Pacific region.
